Stay At Home Family Activities

Stay at home activities blog

Its really positive to hear how everyone is just making the most of things and cherishing the time with family.  We asked our lovely followers what family activities they are doing to keep everyone entertained as we all stay at home and thought we would share them with you.

Some you may already be doing or have planned but there may be one or two ideas that you can take away and plan with your family.

  • Go on a bug hunt as part of your daily walk or in the garden
  • Make a fairy garden
  • Make a bug hotel
  • Recreate a cinema night with home made pizza and popcorn
  • Pitch a tent in the garden
  • Make a cardboard racing car or house
  • Plenty of baking
  • Follow some family friendly online exercise classes
  • Build a den
  • Have a picnic in the garden or an indoor picnic
  • Take lots of pictures to create memories of your time at home
  • Compile that photobook or album that you have been meaning to do for years
  • Go on a bear hunt in the garden at night.  Your Shnuggle Moonlight can be repurposed for this activity perfectly
  • Create a time capsule
  • Make a home made doodle and message board from paper or card for everyone in the family to add something to anytime they feel like it

Some additional suggestions for especially younger toddlers or babies:

  • Baby sensory activities
  • Baby yoga or massage following online classes.  Don’t forget your Squishy Changing Mat for this
  • Read lots of books and stories
  • Water tray with plastic cups or bottles (always supervised)
  • Take a Shnuggle Bath outside in the good weather whether its the baby bath or toddler bath
  • Its the perfect time to start potty training while spending time at home
  • Start weaning your baby if they are at that age and ready with no time pressures, in the comfort of home where everyone is relaxed
