Being pregnant at Christmas doesn’t have to be all about missing out on your favourite G&T or struggling to find something to wear for your Christmas party. There are lots of positives to look forward to!!
With my first child I was heavily pregnant at Christmas time and although I did miss my G&Ts just a little bit and I wasn’t quite as comfortable as I wanted to be, I gotta admit, it had its perks!! You don’t have to feel like you’re missing out if you are pregnant this Christmas.
Pass the Chocolates!
Unless you are suffering badly from morning sickness or the dreaded heart burn, being pregnant at Christmas is the ideal time to eat what you want (well, mostly), when you want. You can indulge in as much turkey, chocolate and desserts as you like without any judgement or guilt (well maybe a little).
Relax and Bond
Particularly in your second or third trimester, you have the perfect excuse to just relax, put your feet up and enjoy some bonding time with bump. The mess in the kitchen can be someone else’s problem this year, or even better take up that dinner offer from family or friends.
Did someone say another Christmas party?!
I don’t know about you but part of me dreads Christmas party season as much as I love it once I’m there. This year you have the perfect excuse to avoid that party you really don’t feel like going to or you want to slip away earlier than would normally be acceptable! Instead you can enjoy a night in front of the fire, watching cheesy Christmas films. Even better you can wake up the next day hangover free and without the worry of remembering what happened the night before!!
If you are missing your favourite cocktail or G&T this Christmas never fear as there are now so many delicious Mocktail recipes around that you shouldn’t feel you are missing out. Try one of these recipes from foodandwine that can also double up as a great Baby Shower drinks idea!
If all else fails SHOP!
Finally, what better time of year to be able to take advantage of all the end of year sales. It’s the perfect time to shop for all those perfect items and even better you can do it online from the comfort of your sofa!! So for all you lovely Mums-to-Be, have a lovely relaxing Christmas! 🙂
