1. Are there any harmful chemicals in Shnuggle products?
No, there are no harmful chemicals in any Shnuggle products. Our products are tested to all relevant mandatory chemical standards, such as EN71-3, a European chemical standard for toys, and REACH. These standards only allow trace amounts of any chemical that could be seen as harmful. As we pass these chemical tests on all of our products, we can ensure that they are completely chemically safe for use with children.
2. What is meant by ‘Non-toxic’?
‘Non-toxic’ has no legal definition. When we use this term, we mean that our products have been tested to strict standards and have been certified as being free from any harmful chemicals. When we use the term, it means our products are completely chemically safe for children to use.
3. What does ‘BPA Free’ mean?
BPA Free is a term which means our products have been tested and do not contain any traces of Bisphenol-A (BPA), a chemical additive used in many types of plastic. None of our products contain BPA, making them BPA Free.
4. What does ‘PVC Free’ mean?
PVC, or Polyvinyl Chloride, is a widely used synthetic resin and thermoplastic material. Our PVC Free products mean that they have been tested and certified as not containing any PVC.
5. Do you use PVC in any of your products?
Yes, a few of our products are made from or contain PVC. Our PVC has been tested to strict chemical regulations and is, therefore, completely chemically safe for use with children.
6. What is FDA Approved Silicone?
FDA Approved silicone is synthetic rubber which is certified safe for contact with food and drink. This means that all our products made using FDA Approved silicone are chemically safe to be put in children's mouths, even if this is not their intended purpose.
7. What does ‘OEKO-TEX Certified’ mean?
Our textiles, such as fitted sheets, are OEKO-TEX certified. This means that our textile factories have strict regulations in place to ensure our products do not contain any harmful chemicals, and are certified by OEKO-TEX.
8. Is your EVA and PU foam safe for children?
Our baby and toddler baths contain PU foam backrests, while our Squishy changing mat is made from EVA foam. All our products, including those containing these foams, have been tested to strict chemical regulations and are certified chemically safe for use with children.
9. What is Polypropylene, and is it safe for children?
Many of our products are made from polypropylene. It is heat-resistant and robust and is considered the safest of all plastics. We also have all of our polypropylene products chemically tested to strict regulations, and can ensure that they are chemically safe for use with children.
